Colum (website) has performed in over thirty countries around the world, confirming the universal appeal for the songs and stories with which he observes the minute and often humorous details of life.

Martin (website) was born in May 1953 in Scunthorpe in Lincolnshire, a particularly fertile tilth for English traditional music as Percy Grainger and generations thereafter discovered. After leaving school in 1970 and abandoning a half-hearted stab at further education, he threw it all in to become a professional musician in 1971. By the age of 12 he was playing guitar, by 13 banjo and at 14 he made his first paid appearance. Like his friend and fellow Martin, Martin Carthy, he still plays the British folk club circuit as eagerly as the grandest music rooms that the world of music can offer.

For the price of a return train ticket you will be entertained by a cast of thousands...! Stewart, Nelson Peach and the Marmalade Band invite you to join them on the 11:45 train from Manchester Piccadilly to Sheffield. You will be entertained on the train, then, on arrival in Hathersage, the entertainment continues in the Little John Pub. At around 2:15pm you return to the train for the return trip - with more entertainment!

You know, there are still some people who've not seen John Wright with his band! Those who've seen him before know of his powerful, sensitive and evocative voice which he uses to sing a good range of “roots” songs that take in all styles from folk to country, peppered with some of the best contemporary singer/songwriters around.

The first Boo Hewerdine solo album, Ignorance, was released in 1992, followed by Baptist Hospital in 1996 and Thanksgiving in 1998, both made with Nick Drake producer John Wood, and by Anon in 2002. In between, in 1994, five songs Boo had written or co-written appeared on Eddi Reader's Eddi Reader, triggering a parallel career with her that continues to this day. Over the past decade Boo has not only regularly played and written together with Reader, but has also enjoyed composing songs for her under her instructions... more on his website!

A regular at the Railway in Spring, John asked Stewart if he could do a gig around December so that he could do some of his Winter seasonal songs. Should be fun!

Tonight should have been club regular Pauline Jones' 'Big Spot', but she's had to decline for health reasons. We all wish her well, and hope to see her do her 'Big Spot' soon. Copies of her excellent CD 'Pauline Jones for example' are still available, proceeds from which go to Christies Hospital.
